Polishing the Crystal Ball: What’s in 2.6?

Gimpusers.com has analysed the interview with Sven Neumann and a lot of other sources. You can read their result here. It will be worth the upgrade - and I’ll have to make some more videos…..

  1. Non destructive editing will definitely a big asset, although I doubt how much we will see of it in version 2.6. A massive amount of code has to be rewritten.
Native CMYK support would also be highly appreciated. It will push GIMP enormously forward in professional areas.
Anyway, GIMP is on track and I can hardly wait for the upgrade and … Rolph’s videos on that ;-)

I think we should be careful not to expect to much. AFAIK 2.6 will focus mostly on internal restructuring and aim to have a short development cycle. I do however look forward to iWarp as a tool. Hope it will make it…

Im really looking forward to the new UI. Its gonna be really exciting, to see what they come up with.
And the new 6 month release cycle, is a nice thing too. Small improvements on a regular basic, no more waiting several years:-)

And by the way. Keep up the excellent work Rolf!
