“Open Thread” postings? Forum? what else?

This comment suggested a posting from time to time where you can post any comments, without being bound to the topic of the show or posting. I like the idea. But I can also set up a forum - not that much work and I would hope for some of the interested people to step in as a moderator.

What do you think?

I think a forum would be a good addition to meetthegimp. In the blog comments you can only talk about one specific topic, and “open threads” could become very confusing when they get longer, while in a forum you can start threads about anything you want.
Right now, meetthegimp is just the podcast, but with a forum, it could become kind of an information platform all around GIMP. Some comments here suggest that there are people who don’t want that, but in the end it’s Rolf’s decision and we gotta live with whatver he does.
I have been using GIMP for several years now, but only for graphics design. I’m new to photography and photo editing, and a forum here could be a great way to get into contact with other GIMP users out there and learn more about it. So personally, I’d like to see a forum here.
