Hugin has changed enormously in the two years since the 0.6.1 release, hardly any part of the code has remained untouched. There have been many many bug-fixes, improvements to the interface and lots of new features. We had a show about this panorama building software way back - seems to be time for a new one.
There is a new help system, new assistants, improved handling of images and correction of exposure. HDR is integrated and a lot more. Get the full thing here.
GIMP has released 2.6.2 - a lot of bugs have been killed. The version from Getdeb doesn’t install on Ubuntu Hardy - but I’ll switch to the Ibex soon.
GIMP 2.6.2 is not available for windows yet but it should be released soon.
what is hugin?
(Edit by Rolf: This was posted before I updated the blog. Mac can read….

Great news on gimp 2.6.2, but it isn’t out for windows yet, are the release notes out on 2.6.2 to see what issues were addressed?
Hugin is a panorama creation software. Great stuff, I guess it will now also create HDR. Haven’t used it in a while. I’ll have to check it out!!

Gimp 2.6.2 for windows is now available @ gimp.org
So when will this update be available for Hardy.
It is at getdeb.org. I don’t think it will be included into the official repositories. There will be updates of the 2.4 version there.
I see it for Intrepid, but not for Hardy. You can set getdeb.org for Intrepid or Hardy.
The one for Intrepid doesn’t work. You get broken dependencies.
